Latest updates and official activities of the General Authority of Civil Aviation
The Chairman of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport received Mr. Saad Baroud, Director of the Department of American Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, this morning. They discussed ways to enhance coordination between the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport and the Ministry on matters of mutual interest, particularly those related to relations with the United States in the field of civil aviation.
The two sides also discussed the possibility of organizing an official visit to the United States to hold meetings with the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the US Department of Transportation, and a number of leading government agencies, companies, and institutions in the aviation sector. The aim of these meetings would be to explore opportunities for cooperation, exchange expertise, and benefit from global best practices in the areas of air safety, airports, air navigation, digital transformation, and air transport development.
These efforts are part of the Authority's vision to reintegrate the Syrian civil aviation sector into the international aviation system and build strategic partnerships that contribute to developing infrastructure, improving service efficiency, and strengthening Syria's position as a regional air transport hub.
The meeting was also attended by Mr. Sameh Arabi, Assistant Chairman of the Authority, and Mr. Raafat Kano, Director of the International Cooperation Office at the Authority.
